Capacitive Touch Sensing

Capacitive Touch Sensing (CTS)

The amazing world of CTS at Clicktouch

Capacitive touchscreens are currently finding their way to the general public, the technique is gradually being applied more widely. From navigation systems to applications for the medical industry and is now best known in the mobile world and household appliances. The first popular worldwide introduction of the capacitive technology has been made by the Iphone®.

Clicktouch has made one of the very first industrial capacitive projects in the world ! Since 2000, Clicktouch is specialised in the manufacturing of capacitive sensors and is mainly focussing on projects in the industrial markets. Even before the launch of the Iphone®, Clicktouch has already made ITO-foils.

What is CTS ?

“Capacitive Touch Sensing” is a capacitive sensing (detection) technique that uses simple construction and decoding. The touchscreen has a special sensor film mounted behind a protective overlay (glass, Plexiglas, polycarbonate) unlike some other techniques (resistive, infrared, surface wave, etc.) where the sensor is at the front and is thus more vulnerable.

CTS creates the most amazing controlling devices you have ever seen.
It will turn every interface into a control panel that you can activate with a touch or hand movement.

Capacitive sensing

Clicktouch has 3 possibilites to design capacitive electrodes:

AG (silver) electrodes

Polymer electrodes
